Art Community Loses Icon

News sources reported today that Jeanne-Claude celebrated artist and wife of Christo died today from complications related to a brain aneurysm.  Jeanne-Claude exhibited the perseverance that comes from not only working with a partner, but a significant other and doing it brilliantly.  The opportunity to see their work is inspiring and overwhelming for anyone working on a smaller scale than this duo.

Jeanne-Claude was 74 years old, young by today's standards.  Most recently she and Christo presented New York and the world with "The Gates".  People from around the world flocked to see this exhibit that was up for only a  short period of time.  Many in the world felt witnessing this piece of art was a once in a lifetime event.

Interviews with the couple often revolved around the amount of planning each piece of art required.  They both shared how every detail from concept, to site selection, and dealing with the local communities was a component of the art.  The piece the couple was working on together is slated for Colorado and is still in the planning stages.

Please take a moment and offer your respects in your own persona way to this artistic icon!
