The "Art" of Possibility

Just returned from a week long intensive with a fabulous instructor, Angeles Arrien.  The course on "The Nine Muses" was great.  What was even more amazing were the ways that she opened us up to look beyond the areas of our lives where we are already creative.  The one thing that we started the week off with was making a distinction between innovation and creativity.  The basic difference is that creativity requires leaving your comfort zone and innovation doesn't.

The week with Angeles was inspiring because she utilized many parts of our brain.  She kept things in our head and our hearts bubbling like lava from a volcano.  She is able to see possibility in everyone and encourages you to step beyond the stories you usually tell yourself into a world where the possibilities are endless.

I got to play with writing Haiku poetry.  I received experiences and tutoring in ancient tribal story telling.  We did some process artwork that was simple and yet amazing what it can bring up and out in each of us.  She did the one thing that I encourage everyone to make a practice, she didn't allow anyone to be anonymous.  By the end of the week we could all see and experience the pearls of wisdom each person was able to share.

The week was nothing less than transformational.  Can't wait to get in the studio and create!

Experiencing a shift...
