How Will You Make A Difference?

It's clear, not every artist is or was a child prodigy.  With that gift comes lots of responsibility and some are more able than others to keep all the balls in the air.  One such artist is Amanda Dunbar.  Amanda and her family moved to the US when she was 12.  At the age of 13 she took an art class and created her first painting, a mother and child in the French Impressionistic Style.  Once her art teacher saw her ability there has been no looking back for this talented artist.

Amanda had her first solo show at age 16 and the show sold out to the tune of 1/2 million dollars.  So what do you do as a young, talented and engaging teenager?  Most would think she'd be out buying sports cars and going on shopping sprees.  Instead, Amanda started a nonprofit organization to help raise money for art programs in the schools.  In addition to that cause she's raised money to help the conjoined Italian twins who came to Texas for treatment.  Her wisdom and compassion is far beyond her years.

She's the youngest woman ever to be inducted into the Texas Women's Hall of Fame.  What I find amazing about this young art is that she has used her talent and her art as a vehicle to have an impact on the world.  She understands that her talent is a gift and it's purpose it far greater than creating beautiful works of art.  She's only one person...what if we looked at Amanda as a role model, better yet a goal model, how would your world be different.

In awe...
