Let's face it, we all love surprises.  They are the times that we are on the edge of our seats waiting for the unexpected or the arrival of something long awaited that ends up being bigger than you originally dreamed.  That's the anticipation that Ivar Zeile, the owner of Plus Gallery, created with the opening of the new show. 

His idea was to take five of the artists in his stable and ask them to create a piece of work related to the "Surprise" theme.  In addition to the five established artists, Ivar asked his intern, an emerging artist to be a part of this cast.  The anticipation of the works was heightened by the drapes over the pieces when I arrived at the gallery.  The feeling of mystery was palpable and everyone was counting down to the unveiling.

The artists all stood by their work and simultaneously unmasked their work.  You can't script that kind of energy or excitement.  Those attending were excited and overwhelmed at the same time.  The artists were beaming with joy and excitement and it launched a new show with flair.
