When the Time is Right You'll Know

I wandered along Santa Fe to see the opening of a couple of shows and found myself in Core Gallery.  What I didn't expect to find was the studio of a bright, enthusiastic, motivated artist named Brianna Martray.  Her studio is right off the main gallery so I wandered in and received a warm welcome.  I probably could have stayed in Brianna's studio all evening talking to her about her work.  Her excitement and willingness to spend time with me was an encouraging sign for a woman determined to make art her love and her livelihood.

Brianna explained that she had gone over to Prague to get certified to teach English as a Second Language.  After six month expecting to return to the US before embarking on her world travels to explore and teach she found that a number of pieces of art had sold.  Obviously this planted the bug that maybe now was the time for her to devote herself full time to her art.  She recently signed a lease for Studio A in the Core Gallery building and that's where she paints and exhibits.

If you have the chance to see various pieces in person you can see the progression that Brianna is making in her work.  Her new work exudes a clarity and confidence evidenced by her monochromatic pieces.  You can see the evolution in her work and that's very exciting.  She's so enthusiastic about her art that its contagious.  It's not a naive enthusiasm, but a confident, self-knowing that this is where she's meant to be and this is her time.

Can you be flexible enough to change your plans when the Universe gives you the signal?  Are you brave enough to take the leap of faith you may need to take on what you love as your livelihood?  Are you conscious enough to look for the signs or be open to what is delivered to your doorstep?  Think about it and get back to me.

Caught up in the enthusiasm...
