This weekend I attended the "Art for Change" auction held by The Other Side Arts (TOSA).  It is an opportunity for artists to donate work that is auctioned off and the proceeds benefit the organization.  I speak to lots of artists about whether they should donate to these types of charities and it's really a mixed bag.  You have to decide is this how you want to support the organization and how does the organization maintain the artist's integrity based on the price of the piece.

Whatever side of the fence you fall on I know that I saw lots of incredible art, met incredible artists and got to talk to lots of people about the impact the art had on our hearts.  The event although under attended was elegant and hopefully productive for TOSA. 

As with any venture it's important to take what you learned and make the next event even better.  I do want to thank the artists who gave of their time and talent to this worthy organization that supports artists and their development.  It's this relationship between artists and TOSA that helps build the agency's reputation for being a premier arts non-profit.
