By Chance
It's impossible to be everywhere and see everything so I usually attend functions and openings that are publicized or through invitations I receive (hint, hint: if you want me to show up...invite me!). When I was venturing out with a destination in mind on Santa Fe I passed Remmi Fine Art because something caught my eye when a guest opened the door.
The show in progress is large mixed media pieces by Michael Dowling. The work is striking with a forceful statement being made through the art. The piece that really made a statement for me was "And He Told Her, Woman, Your Heart Will be Pierced with Many Swords". Interesting title and I'm sure that there is some way to shorten the title because it would never fit on a slide for entering an exhibition. Other works that are impressive were "Object of Desire" and "Emeth".
The sad part for me is that following my visit I haven't been able to find any information about Michael Dowling. I looked on Remmi Fine Art's website but the artist isn't listed. There isn't an artist website that I could find on Google or other search engines so this gifted artist is somewhat anonymous...that's a pity! Definitely falls in the category of "don't let this happen to you!".
